My third sushi visit within four days and that in three different cities: Berlin, Cologne and now Amsterdam 😀 I wouldn’t mind being hired as a sushi critics and tasting all the sushi places around the world.
Originally, it wasn’t even planned to have sushi for dinner but I wanted go for something light, and sushi is light, right? 😉
Before waiting for C to pick me up, I strolled a bit around the nearby park, called Oosterpark.
It’s a nice little small park with plenty of green areas. I can’t remember the last time I have been in a park just by myself and doing people watching #kidding
As much as I enjoyed my time in the park, it was time to head for food.
Yatta Sushi is located in the east part of Amsterdam, away from the busy city centre and all the touristy spots.
The place has a nice Japanese / Asian decoration. I quite like the interior design of the restaurant. Clean, simple, modern and not too overdone. They had soft lounge cover music playing in the background. I believe in summer or when the temperature gets warmer, guests have the chance to seat outside by the water (which I might do, should I be around this area next time).
Each of their dishes that we ordered came in a nice plate.
I love Edamame – whenever I get the chance I like to order these as a starter.
Hotate Gai Mayuyaki (grilled Scallops) – the mustard sauce is the best
Unagi roll & Salmon roll
Zalm & Tonijn (salmon & tuna) – How I love fresh Sashimi!
Ebi Tempura (deep fried prawns)
Mix Tempura (deep fried vegetables & fish)
We surely ordered way too much food *hahaha* I kind like the idea that they don’t serve our food all in one go but with little break in-between for digestion… 😉 Waitress was also super friendly.
Overall Experience: 8/10 (very tasty food, but didn’t really like the tempura…)
