It’s time for Korean food again. I noticed that from the Asian cuisines, since I moved to Hamburg, I eat a lot of Chinese, Japanese and Vietnamese food. However, for some reasons Korean food seems to be missed out. After my recent Korean food experience at Onni in Lübeck, I decided to look for a Korean restaurant in Hamburg. A quick search on the internet and I came across Yorisa, which is in the district area Winterhude. We arrived there in the afternoon and were quite lucky that we found a space to seat for hubby, myself plus our little one with the pram. This place is very tiny, or shall I say cosy? 😉 As I have looked up their menu on their website upfront, I know what to order: Bibimbap (which is actually the only main course that this place offer). I guess it must be very good then… 🙂 For starters we ordered Kimchi (€2) and Mandu (€3.9) As in terms of the Bibimbap, there were only three different types to choose from: with beef (€9.5), chicken (€8.5) or vegetarian (€7.5).

We opted for their classic version with beef and their crunchy version with chicken. As Baby J is too small to eat “adult food” we skipped to try the vegetarian version *lol* Their Bibimbap is served in a “normal” bowl. Normally this food is served in a sizzling hot stone bowl. And because the bowl is usually served so hot, they will usually serve raw egg yolk instead of fried egg which will instantly get cooked as you mix your rice and toppings. Nevertheless, our food arrived very colourful. It’s a shame that they do not have desserts on their menu. Apparently, they do but not every day…

Overall Experience: 7.5/10 It is a nice and cosy little restaurant, which is focused / specialized in Bibimbap only. Therefore, one has to like this type of Korean food, as otherwise, I would suggest to try a different Korean restaurant, where they have more to offer on the menu. What I missed at Yorisa is, that they do not offer any small side dishes aka Banchan for free. I guess, I am too spoiled with the Korean restaurants in Berlin. 😛 Other than that, service was nice but slow. There was only one waiter working. Hence, bring some time with you, if you arrive during the busy dining hours.

Good to Know: As mentioned above that this restaurant is tiny, they don’t have a bathroom inside for guests. If you want to clean your hands or need to use the toilet for some reasons, this is not possible.
