After a busy daytime on our first day in Copenhagen, we tried to make the evening part a bit more relax and chilled out. Even though C wasn’t into touristy stuffs, yet, I wanted to visit Nyhavn 😀
I bet one of the first thing that tourists often associate with Copenhagen is Nyhavn. It is one of the most iconic places in Copenhagen and a perfect spot to hang out in the sun. That place lined by brightly coloured 17th and early 18th century townhouses and bars, cafes and restaurants. And of course, full of tourists 😉 Finding a dinner spot here can be a challenge, especially with a weather like this. We ended up at Nyhavn 37. This restaurant does not take reservation upfront. It works after the first come first serve principle. Their evening menu is more focused on the French and Italian kitchen, which is not too bad. For starter we opted for creamy burrata mozzarella with avocado, tomato, beetroot, fresh basil and pine nuts… Before our mains arrived, fillet beef served with seasonal vegetables, today’s potato and béarnaise sauce… … and mussels steamed in white wine We skipped the dessert part here and went for Vaffelbageren instead, which is just a few minutes walking distance away. Home of Homemade waffles and that since 1953! Not bad, ey 😀 And its facilities are quite modern equipped. Contactless payment. We should have these in Germany as well. Makes things more easy and hassle-free.
We strolled back on the other side of the waterfront – the less “touristy” part. Here, you can get much better pictures with less people (in your photo) 😛 What a day and city. Copenhagen might not offer that many POIs as some other European capitals but it surely has its own charm and I can’t wait to explore it more over the next upcoming days…
