Yeah, I am finally back to Hamburg again (after a while) đ C picked me up from the train station, Hamburg Dammtor, and we decided to opt for dinner Thai food. We both, especially me, are really into Asian food recently â last week Chinese cuisine and this week Thai. In particular after my two weeks South America trip where I only had western food non-stop. I was really into Peruvian cuisine, especially ceviche!! Now, I canât see that for a while. So be prepared for more Asian Restaurant Reviews coming up on this blog! đ
Because it was raining on that night and almost 9pmish, I didnât want to go somewhere too far. Therefore, we ended up with Green Papaya, which is within walking distance away from the train station. The restaurant itself is offering Asian cuisines that are mainly specialist in Vietnamese, Japanese (mostly Sushi) and a bit of Thai food as well.
We werenât the only people dining that late in the evening. Service was attentive and we didnât have to wait too long for them to take our orders.
For starters we ordered Shrimp Tempura Japanese Style
… and Green Papaya Salad Followed by our mains Duck Curry (with Coconut milk and Thai Basil) ⊠and Salmon Pesto (grilled Salmon with seasonal vegetables in oyster sauce and Thai Basil-Pesto) Our food were served relatively quickly and that to a very reasonable price. The portions of our food size were huge, I couldnât even finish my part đ (and I normally don’t like to waste food)…
Overall Experience: 7.5/10 (Green Papaya is surely a nice place to have a casual meal. I did struggle a bit of finding what to choose from the Thai menu section since itâs very limited. Nevertheless, a good food selection if you donât limit yourself to one specific type of Asian cuisine. Side Note: I didnât really like my salmon because it was cooked a bit too dry, but overall a good dining experience)
