It’s all about food whenever I am with C. After all my adventure in Amsterdam last year, I had to swap it for Hamburg from now on for the time being. So, expect to find more restaurant reviews and life in Hamburg (besides my usual adventures) on this blog 😉
I can’t mention often enough how much I love Sushi. And I normally avoid going to Asian restaurants that are running by “Western” people and the same vice versa with Western cuisine running by Asian people simply because I think “locals” can prepare “their food” better or at least more authentic. Hence, I was a bit sceptical when I heard about a fusion restaurant that is specialist in Mediterranean food and at the same time also offers Sushi on the menu. As I said, I normally would avoid this kind of restaurant places but C convinced me by saying they do very nice tempura. Hence, I gave it a go. 🙂
The place is located in the district area Eppendorf. We arrived there for dinner time on a Saturday evening and were pretty lucky since we got a table immediately.
In terms of their Asian menu – they really do have a good selection of sushi to choose from. From the standard classical ones such as Maki, Nigiri or California roll up to some warm dishes such as Teriyakis and of course Tempuras (among a few others) 😀

Maral’s Sushi Speciality 
We also ordered in addition a fried sushi maki tuna with asparagus roll (which they added in our Sushi bowl) because I was curious about the taste of this combination. I was a bit disappointed since the tuna was bit too overcooked and it tasted too dry. I surely, won’t re-order this, and they even charged €6.90 for this maki roll, which consisted of 6 little pieces.
Overall Experience: 6.5 (Staffs were nice but service was slow. The tempuras were indeed nice same with the sashimi. However, the rest so-so. You can getter at least same or even better quality of sushi for the same price that they charge).
